8 questions I always get asked about working in sustainable fashion
Straight from the frontlines of my office hours sessions - here are the key topics repeatedly raised about careers in this sector.
During the month of October, I’ve welcomed 37 different experts in sustainable fashion to host an hour-long mentoring call each, between them welcoming over 300 people wanting to make a difference in this sector.
Some insights and learnings from that to come, but managing all of this and preparing the speakers for what to expect from the calls, has made me reflect a lot on what sort of thing I have been asked in my two years of doing my open office hours sessions.
I’m resharing this post I wrote a year ago as a result. What it focuses on is that in all of my calls, one of the most interesting things I’ve realised is just how many of the questions that come up each month are so very similar.
There are of course variations, and there are thematic discussions relative to what particular topic within the industry individuals are interested in exploring at any given time (lots on circularity, innovation, post growth theory and beyond). But, when it comes to talking about careers in this space, there are some key points I can bank on in nearly every call.
